Tammie Benzinger Benzinger, MD, PhD
Professor of Radiology and Neurological Surgery
Studies Involved in: DMN-Delirium
Dr. Benzinger is a Professor of Radiology, a member of the Neuroimaging Labs – Research Center (NIL-RC), and of the clinical neuroradiology section at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. She is also the Medical Director for MRI at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and Christian Hospital. Her research group studies healthy aging and Alzheimer’s dementia (AD) using advanced MRI and PET scans, and leads imaging for the international studies of the Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer Network (DIAN). The research spans first-in-human PET tracers, such as 11C-CS1P1 for neuroinflammation, clinical trials in AD, and translation of quantitative MRI and resting-state MRI into clinical practice. Fun fact – Tammie is currently obsessed with artisan bread baking, after a “gift” of sourdough during the holidays last year.
