Dr. Brendan Lucey is a sleep neurologist and physician-scientist. His research focuses on the relationships between sleep, aging, and Alzheimer’s disease. In support of his research, Dr. Lucey has received funding from the NIH and the BrightFocus Foundation. He was also awarded a K76 Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging. In addition, Dr. Lucey is also interested in other proteins, hormones, and metabolites that are affected by the sleep-wake cycle, such as plasma and CSF cortisol, glucose, lactate, and inflammatory factors.
